The British Icon Series Concorde

Concorde Concorde Concorde

In 2009 we decided to make this British Icon Series Signature guitar, not just to mark the 40th anniversary test flight of Concorde, the world's most revolutionary turbo-powered, supersonic passenger aircraft, but also as a tribute to this amazing achievement between British and French engineers.

Like the original aircraft, the guitar is finished in Concorde white with red and blue livery, underneath which the Brazilian mahogany tone wood, set neck construction and maple capped body work smoothly away at providing effortless playability and superb tone.

A hand-cut mother of pearl Concorde image is inlaid into the ebony faced headstock, while the same tone wood is the choice for the fretboard, housing 22 Dunlop 6150 size frets honed to perfection. The side position markers are red roundels with white inserts, and the body outline is trimmed with hand painted red and blue pin stripes, whilst hand painted raised crossed flags on the lower body represent the aircraft's manufacturing contributions from the British Aircraft Corporation and the French Aerospatiale.

The colour scheme continues with both the Seymour Duncan Jazz humbucker in the neck position and JB unit at the bridge, custom finished with matching blue and red coils. For sonic versatility, each pickup features coil-tapping facilities via the push-push tone control, selectable via a three-way toggle switch. “ Concorde” is also fitted with a Hipshot vibrato system and Sperzel machine heads with pearloid buttons. Accessories include a Martyn Booth logo'd premium leather strap and Hiscox Liteflite case plus a limited edition Fusion F1 Union Jack gigbag and two backpacks !
